"Sweater of Many Buttons" Knitalong!

i think you would need one, maybe two skeins extra, the pattern is a 34 or 36 right? So if you look at pattern schematics for other stuff, the yarn requirements look like this, 8(8,8,9,9,10) so just based on that (no math involved, those skein numbers are arbitrary) i would think you need 1 or 2 more skeins

Alrighty - I bought three extra, just in case. I'm a big 'fraidy cat, I'd rather be sure I have enough. Thanks so much for helping me out with that, Superstitch! And if any of you guys are still working on this sweater, I'd love to join in the knitalong!

I'm still working on it, but I decided to frog the mistake portion after Happy Hour with some girlfriends last night and it ended up not being the um, wisest decision ever. I've got to go back and make sure that nothing is wonky before I start back up, but I'm hoping it won;t take too long. Pics will be forthcoming once I get it all straightened out. WELCOME!!!

My yarn arrived today - YAY!  Now I just hope there's enough!

FINALLY! It only took me, um, 5 months  

It's actually been languishing in my closet since January, fully knit and awaiting the perfect set of buttons, which I found (and they're not a set at all!):



I'm hopelessly indecisive, so I just used one or two each of a whole bunch of random buttons that I bought in a grab bag at Michael's. It's a bit loose in the chest where I did the shaping (which is weird, cause I measured throughout ... it's like it has a mind of its own), but I've solved that problem before by soaking the problem area and blasting it with a hairdryer.

the noodle princess - great minds think alike! I used 4 and a bit balls of Paton's Shetland Chunky. I lost the label but I think it's called "Rich Burgundy." It's so soft and cosy. I love it. And we're just starting to see hints of spring where I live, so I might actually be able to show it off without a jacket overtop soon

Karmapolice - until you said that your choice in buttons was you being indecisive, I totally thought it was an artistic move.  And that's such a great color.  Beautiful!

Wow, karmapolice, it's gorgeous! I LOVE the different buttons, they suit it perfectly! I'm still waiting on my yarn (I don't think it's even been shipped yet, sigh.) but I'm finding it very encouraging that all the finished Buttony sweaters on here have turned out beautifully!
