i lucked out with mine, because my mum is treasurer of the charity that runs the thrift shop, and she called to tell me when the knitting machine came in.

i took a couple of pictures last night of the back of the wee nightie/dress/whatever it is... it desperately needs blocking, so right now it's just pinned to the carpet:

here's a detail shot of the "ruffle" - no way could i ever knit this neatly and at this fine a gauge without losing my mind:

i have a knitmaster 4500 (sold in canada as "knit-king")

Ah, that explains it.  My so-called knitting machine is a cheapo Bond Ultimate Sweater Machine.  A Knitmaster - now, a Knitmaster is a *real* knitting machine.  And to have found it at a thrift store - whatta score!   Grin

I have a old Knit-King as well as a Singer. I haven't done anything with them in about a year as I find I like to knit while watching TV and haven't taken the time to go the my craft room to work. But I may be inspired to get there soon.

I have a brother, and i love it to bits. I'm just learning to make things that are a little bit more exciting than scarves  Grin

it's loads of fun, and like you said smartygirl, I could never knit this fine a gauge without turning into a mental case!
