Anyone need books for crafting?
Or reading, of course?

Save this Thursday and Friday, October 26 & 27, 2006!

The Friends of the New Braunfels Public Library are having their annual sale the end of this week with the MOST books/ records/ recordings/ magazines/  etc. ever... probably around 75,000+ pieces (more than filled an entire moving van PLUS 2 pick-up loads PLUS 2 flatbed trailer loads). I've been working with the Friends every week sorting (75 categories from Antiques, Art & Architecture to Westerns and Writing with everything in between!) and preparing books etc for this 2 day event held at the Civic Center on S. Seguin St @ Garden Street.

Paperbacks are mostly $0.75 and hardbacks are mostly $1 (collectibles are a little higher), and I'll look up how much records and videos are tomorrow. Most National Geographic magazines are free. Most other magazines are $0.20!! Friday afternoon, starting at 1pm, I think, all the goodies you can stuff into a paper grocery bag goes for $3 !!!

If you've wanted to try altered books, here's your chance. There will be lots and LOTS of picture books and travel books, and you-name-it books, tons of cookbooks (literally), and uncountable magazines of all kinds.

If you've always wanted to try to make a record bowl, it's time! Lots of records this year.

The thing that makes shopping this year such a great deal is that limited parking at the Civic Center's remodeling project will scare off some of the regular locals, although parking is abundant at the Protestant Church just down the street. Volunteers from the Friends can even help carry your books for you!

Thursday 9am-7pm, or
Friday 9am- 4pm, or you'll have to wait another year!

Wow!  I live in New Braunfels, too.  I've been lurking Craftster for a while but just joined the other day.  If you guys do another meet-up, please let me know!  I'm a *new* SAHM, and I'd like to get out of the house as much as possible!

Well, SALauri and I get together every now and then. I'm sure we wouldn't mind company. We're both in SA. We had 1 other person come last time. Maybe we could set up another meeting!

Hi there.

I recently moved to Austin from the Chicago area and am a Craftster newb!  I adore living here, and I now live on this board when I am at work during the week.  I find Craftster to be super inspiring, and I would love to meet other Craftsters in the area.

Are you planning on having a get together anytime soon?  I have never been to New Braunfels, but I do enjoy San Marcos (kinda reminds me of going to college  Cheesy).  Sitting around with some other crafty-minded people while I cross stitch like sounds fun!

Enjoy the day,

kl
