Hi.. uh OK.. I have all these legs from jeans-to-skirt projects... What to do... How about a bag? Shocked

This is the first thing I've shown here. I'm really nervous about it. OK, here goes... Embarrassed Embarrassed

First, I cut the bottom from a leg. This is the outside. Cut the other but a little smaller. This was the liner to make it a bit more sturdy. I added a pocket to the outside with the letter 'd' (I'm Deana, maybe I'm a bit too old to be caught carrying a bag with my initial... but who cares...) Undecided

I thought it might be nice to have a divider with pockets.

One side of the divider:

The other side:

For the bottom, I cut an oval of denim and added a 1/8" piece of hardwood cut in the same oval. I added some trim on the bottom. By doing this, the bag will stand up on it's own.

For the top, I added a zipper. Open:

closed:

Maybe I should have stopped there. But no, I had to try and be unique. I added a white leather strip and called it a belt. I made a buckle by bending some heavy guage wire. I made belt loops at the top of the bag. Dorky, yes, but different. You can see the belt & buckle above in the image with the zip closed. Notice I errored adding the zip... it's not straight... But it still worked...

The straps are just the seam from some leg material left over from making a denim skirt with a box pleat hem.

The outside pocket:

I added this little heart. It matches the little hearts that grace the top of my box pleated hem reconned denim skirt:

I'm done now. Put the keys on the handy ring and on the bag on my shoulder. I'm off to face the world! I hope I'm not too stupid looking...

Comments? Dorky? Useful? Maybe cute? I'm really nervous...

Maybe I'll get really bold and show the skirt from jeans that has the matching pink hearts!  Shocked
