button belts

i dont have a picture up of this yet, but its VERY easy to do. . . i made a " button belt " using a store baught black canvas belt (you could make one, i suppose? ). Then, i made buttons with my button maker and pinned them on. it was simple and looks great. you could even make a bunch of buttons to make a poem around the belt.

i got a one inch button maker on ebay for about $300 canadian.

I work a a very large retail chain and we had button makers in stock for christmas this year.  They were in the toys, and only $20, so I don't know what kind of quality they were.  (Tho, you could buy a kit of Strawberry Shortcake image for them for $4--which I got to make marble magnets with).  

If it helps, none have been returned broken as of yet.


And I'm going to keep my eye out for a nice button maker...though, I don't think I can swing $300 for one at the moment.

  dont you miss the days of good old POG? ya know.. that spiffy button-maker that only cost about $20.... except they werent really buttons, just the front of one
