I'm working on the brim of mine and I'm glad to see it looks cute without the plastic. I got some on ebay (too lazy to go to the craft store, and it was like $1.00 total with shipping) so if it shows up in time I might add it.

this is my hat, knit in manos del uraguay (swoon) i didnt add the plastic but i did knit some wire into the brim to allow some stiffness. this worked out awesome. i have some closeups if anyone is curious

those look awesome.  the wire in the brim is a good idea.  I might stick some in later if it gets too floppy.
