my bed/craft room- orange, crosseyed ceramic dogs and flamingos - photo obese

i just moved back into my apartment for the school year, and i'm very excited with how my room turned out, so i decided to inflict a crapload on you...

it's a smallish room, but past experience has taught me that i always need to set aside a separate space for sewing or painting or whatever..  (otherwise i end up losing my oil paints in my bed and waking up with bright red feet... and red sheets..) so i divided my room into 2 sections the craft/art/book section-



the flamingos used to have legs, but i let people use them as marshmallow sticks and they got lost, but i think i like them better like this anyway-


         this is my wonderful chair- it was originally in the psych. ward of a hospital-

      i love all the layers of paint on it -


and the sleeping/ clothes makeup etc. section-



the table on the left has some clothes and makeup and hair stuff in it (and it has my shrine)
and i have a closet at the foot of the bed-

the skeleton ashtray is something 2 of my fantastic housemates got me in prague


here's a picture of the bed- mostly just to prove that it is (very) occasionally made-


this is the curtain closed-

i think the curtain used to be a tablecloth, i got it for 3 dollars at a thrift-store, after i got home i found a price-tag on it from pier 1 imports for 95$- i love thriftstores...

I want a psych ward chair!  Alcove beds are the coolest!  Especially with curtains.

yeah, i love my bed where it is, i think that may be one of my favorite things about my room

Very cool place!  I kind of feel sorry for the flamingos, though.  I love your psych chair and the tablecloth especially.  I think we have the same sewing machine.  I got it in 8th grade in, um... 1970!  The foot pedal is shot but I refuse to get rid of it!

thanks!, the flamingos are a little sad (alright, very sad) , but i think it's better to be crippled together in a room, than being crippled in a dark box in my closet- at least now they get to talk to each other. i LOVE my sewing machine, his name is hieronymus bosch, i got him from my fantastic aunt and uncle for college, he doesn't do anything fancy but he's fast and he always works perfectly for me, i think i would want to keep him forever no matter what too

wow!!! what a great room!! i am currently decorating my new place, and that is totally the feel i want for my art room. the chair with the ceramic dog is my favorite, by far, but i have a feeling my cats might object to something not cuddly being on it ... hahaha .
