That's so great!! I love it!!

My only tip for the contact paper/etching cream is that after I put the contact paper stencil down I go over it really well with a bone folder to make sure the edges of the stencil are really adhered to the glass - hope it helps!

I do that too (only with an old credit card or my finger nail) and I haven't had to many problems. When I'm applying the etching cream instead of smearing it on I kind of do a pouncing method.

Your mirror rocks! Hope your boyfriend loves it.

This is so great!! I should do something like this for my husband, but I guess we'd have to hide it when the parental units come over.  Wink

totally love it.
looks like something that would sell on urbanoutfitters for lots.
you probably could have used spray adhesive to secure the stencil, i'm not sure what that would have done to the surface though.

That's awesome!  Have you ever tried masking tape?  I've had no problem with it.  Just make sure you flatten out the masking tape's edges, so it can't bleed under the tape and just use an x-acto to cut out your saying, stencil, or whatever.  It makes good crisp clean lines.

thats awesome! I love the idea.

Also, I've done etching before, but I don't use the cream, I have a dremel tool, and I outline what I want etched, then use the finest point to design it.

Newbie here...I have to say I love this idea!  I need to make one for my husband, but considering that he HAS to check himself out everytime he passes a mirror, or a window, or any other reflective surface, mine would have to read, "You fucking rock...now get over it."
