The plaid one with one button? That one was made using the Jordy tutorial.

The pink messenger bag with 2 buttons? That one was made using Gloriana's gusset messenger bag tutorial.

I've made a couple other bags lately and an outfit for a holiday party but I have been so busy at work I haven't posted them yet. Sad

Awesome!  I'm making a couple of purses for Christmas and this method looks so PROFESSIONAL and neat!  I'll be using this method whenever I need a zipper pocket!

Thanks,
Crystal

I need a clarification--I don't understand the difference between the pocket facing and pocket lining. In that example when you look into the pocket, one side of the pocket is red and one side is polka dots?

What I call the pocket facing (i had no idea what to call it) is the polka dot pocket piece that will get the zipper in it. The solid color piece (i think i call it pocket lining or pocket back) is what you'll see when you open the pocket. Hope that helps. Smiley

I put a zippeer pocket in a purse I made for a gift...
I didn't use any of the tutorials, but I thought I would post the results..
I really wanted to have the outer fabric displayed on the inside too!
Enjoy!

Yes, the white is interfacing on the back of the spotted fabric pocket piece.

Basically stitch the pocket piece to the bag (right side to right side). Slash through the middle of the rectangle you sewed, almost to the edge. Then cut from the end of the slash diagonally to the corners. Now take that pocket piece and pull it to the other side of the bag piece through the hole you just cut.

Hope that helps!

And thanks 'begin again'! I so miss posting new projects. *sniff* I'm hoping soon I'll have some more stuff. Craftster withdrawl is horrible!!!
