I made 2 of these for my friend as a wedding present.  I knitted the heart lace and then cut the flap part off of a pillowcase.  I hand-sewed the lace to the cut edge and then sewed the flap back on to the other edge of the lace.  My friend's favorite color is green so I threaded some green ribbon through the eyelets along the edges.

My friend got married in El Salvador and as part of the ceremony, they needed a pillow to kneel on so they used this one!  I added some ribbons and covertly safety-pinned it to make it look fancier and not like a plain pillowcase.  They loved it!  I have pictures of it in the wedding on my blog here: http://gonnapurl.blogspot.com/2006/08/catching-up.html
