Amigurumi Fish

This was made about a day or two ago. It's not as great as the things I've seen around here, but I must say that I am quite proud of it Cheesy. Enjoy.

He is very cute, bitterpill is right, you should be proud.  I'd hang him in a bathroom window or something...

Thanks for the comments Cheesy.

I just went as I crocheted, which is what I usually do when I make amigurumi.

Your fishie is cute, and I like the idea about putting it in the bathroom windown.

adorable!  I have a friend who would love your fishie.  Too bad I suck at amigurumi, LOL!

There are two sides to a trumpeter's personality.  There is the one that lives only to lay waste to the woodwinds and strings, leaving them lying blue and lifeless along the swath of destruction that is the trumpeter's fury.  And then there's the dark side.

I would do that, but the only window I have in my bathroom is beside the shower. If I were to hang them there, they might get wet.

If you were to make them for sale (they're awfully cute!) , I think you would market them better if they were striped.....just my 2 cents.....

Those are so incredibly adorable! I would use them to make a sort of mobile-type thing, but not necessarily for babies. Does that make sense?
The sequins idea would be really cool. Especially for the mobile thing I have in mind. It could hang near a window and when the sun catches it the fishies would go all sparkly. Or you could even use those big sequins, paillots or whatever they're called.
As for price, it depends on how long it takes to make them. If you can whip out like 3 in an hour, I'd say $3-$7. Depending on how detailed they get. Sparkly fishies are more expensive. If it takes longer to make them, maybe the low two-digits. Say $10-$15.

They are adorable!  I love the green one.   Cheesy

If they're easy to make, I'd add catnip to the stuffing and see if your local specialty pet store or vet's office will keep a basket of them on the counter and sell them for you.  Cat lovers would gobble these up!

If they take a while to make, I second the mobile idea.  I can picture these brightly colored fishies hanging over a baby's crib.  I wouldn't use beads or sparkly things in either case, but I don't think they need it.  They're perfect just the way they are!

Mistake?  No... it's an Unexpected Design Element.  I put it there on purpose.  *ahem*

The catnip is a great idea! They are so cute!
I've sold some handmade (knitted, but this will apply to crocheted items as well).  In this sale, there were several other knitters as well.  My things (little bears) were the only knit items that sold.  That is simply because I totally undervalued my time and even the materials on the price.  While it hurt to do that, I recognized that's the only way that people would buy them (they were $12 canadian each).

With crochet it takes less of your time, and so unless you want to make a huge profit they can be priced rather low without hurting you TOO much.

Sorry this is a rant, but unfortunately (lots of) people undervalue handmade items and don't recognize that the price should reflect the fact that its handmade Smiley

This reminds me of a car ornament thing my best friend has always had. It has a little suction cup and suctions to the windshield inside and just hangs there looking cute. Maybe you could make those with them.

The fishie is so cute...I third (?) the idea of making small ones with catnip, I know my cat would love it.

Honestly if you made a flock...pod...SCHOOL--geez...a school of fishies like him, particularly in a variegated yarn or with different colour fins yep DEFINITELY he would sell.  I'm on a fish fanciers forum and believe me they'd snap them up.  He'd make a great mobile too--hang several via fishing line.  Soooooo cute!  Definitely a winner.  Cheesy
