I'm so going to join this, but I want to get more practice with my crafting first.

I'm excited about this swap. I have already started to figure out what I'm going to make and what not.  Cheesy

I just hope I get a partner with similar interests in Japan! I'm into that scary/cute stuff like Gloomy Bear: http://www.kidrobot.com/search.php?keyword=gloomy+bear&gclid=CKyL4NejnocCFU89IgodjnZMrg

I also love kawaii stuff and pink, pink, pink!! Plus, the traditional stuff as well.  Wink

Do you think that's going to make me an odd man out for this swap? I know a lot of people are into anime and manga and fruits stuff Which, I love to look at fruits but I don't wanna dress like one! I'm too old to be super edgey.  Tongue

Hm... I don't know what everybody else is feeling for this swap, but I'm guessing there's enough people that you should find someone a bit similar!

As for me (sent in my form last night!), I'm a fruitsy fan, but I love the EGL stuff too; sushi stuff, pop culture stuff (movies and music... Battle Royale is my favourite movie, I <3 visual kei); classic & modern Japanese art, a few of the kawaii types, sushi anything etc etc .... but I am not a fan of anime/manga!

Doubt it.

I'm patial to Kabuki, Noh and Geisha/Geiko/Maiko rather than kawaii..  Anime is okay but not something I go out of my way to get my paws on.  Now a good plum silk... oh yeah... but I sew kimono for a recreation history group... for fun..

Agreed, I always have a hard time thinking of the more traditional things.  But that's why we get to comunicate with our parnterns, just tell them what more you're interested in.  Actually, most everyone involved in the swap is prolly keeping up with posts and will know already anyway.  Cheesy

Well, for those of you that love anime - look at this cute fabric I found:

http://www.hartsfabric.com/33811.html by Alexander Henry fabric

the price per yard is a little pricey though. Maybe you could shop it around or something. They have it in a number of colors.

I do certainly hope I get matched up with someone who will pm back and forth with me. I live in a small town where there's only one teeny tiny Asian shop... until december. Then I can go back to Manhattan and stock up on supplies for the next round.
