I've been really wanting to do this pattern for a while now, I've gone through the pattern and have some issues with how it might look so I thought:

Wouldn't it be handy and more fun if we all had a go at this and helped and cheered eachother on?

Whaddya say?

I would like to give it a try. Since I will need to make a large size, can anybody suggest some decently priced yarn? I have been buying some very nice yarn lately, and it is doing something nasty to my wallet.

The Baroque looks great and I'd love to join in, but like Galleta I'm going to need some economical yarn suggestions.

P.S. have either of you used KnitPicks?

Not really no

I'm in Holland, and I wouldn't know where to start looking for it.

I've been using something called Nova, mercerized cotton, at 1,50 for 110m/50g, so that's pretty much what the pattern calls for. The only thing with this stuff is that it untwists a whole lot so I do more twisting than actual crochetting!

I've been thinking of using Anne for this one. I was thinking also about using Cool Crochet by Bernat but Anne's much more economical. I've been using it on Blissful and it's a lovely thread.

It calls for fingering yarn. I might go to knitpicks. All I found at Jo-Ann's was yarn for baby items and for socks.

Would Rowan 4ply Cotton work for this?  I'd love to make this cardi (even tho I'm a beginner crocheter, but I figure I can do it if I work at it Cheesy ) and I have a big pile of 4 ply Cotton that would be perfect for it...  Anything that doesn't make me buy more yarn and uses some stash up Wink

someone on another thread told me that this site http://yarn.com/webs/0/1/0/0-0-1294/ has good sale prices on yarn.
