Cynalune and Horse power - your colours are very effective.
Homerof 2 - I have just finished the June easy square, and I must say, when I started on it, I wondered why you had categorised it as "easy", but after the 3rd round, I realised why - the pattern was so obvious  ( as the designer herself says), it practically crocheted itself.

Is this going to be ongoing?  I'd love to get in on this!
I just recently (March 07) picked up crocheting again after learning in the 5th grade.  I had never completed anything up until now so I am quite excited.

Nizzy: This started in October, so the last month will be September. It's definitely not too late to join! If you don't want/have time to make all 24 squares, you can make smaller afghan, for a baby maybe.

Thanks for the compliments on the neutral color scheme! I've just been using what I had in the stash, but I may go to the craft store this week for a bit of gold to liven things up.  Cheesy

Here's December!

The experienced square (Octagon Medallion) is now tied with Butterfly Garden for my favorite square ~ it looks like a big flower!

OK... next on the catch-up list is January. Although I admit I'm considering skipping ahead to February so I can make those cute heart shapes.  Wink

Here I am, with no papers to grade and nothing extremely pressing to work on. So, I actually have time to continue my November Easy square. And then I'm jumping ahead to do the butterfly square as a reward to myself.

Reward for only completing 2 squares, you say? Why not? Or , maybe it could be an "I-made-it-through-a-school-year-with-one-of-the-worst-groups-of-8th-graders-I've-ever-had" reward.

Less expensive than some of my usual rewards (books, CDs, craft supplies) and much less fattening than some others (chocolate, ice cream, cookies...). So maybe it could even be a reward for avoiding these other rewards!

And I know some of you are saying- "Whatever! Just get your darn squares done!"

I just wanted to let you all know that we are going to be on holidays from June 23 - July 2nd so I won't have July's squares on the board until after we get back.  I have them picked out and I'm going to take the patterns and yarn with me to try them before posting.

I'm still working on June's squares and can't stand the feeling of being 'behind'.  I also don't like the mistakes I'm finding in the experienced square but, thankfully, I've been able to figure them out.  That will teach me for not trying the squares before I post them  Grin
