I am feeling pleased with myself! Not only have I got my squares done, I have managed to take the picture, and post it well before the end of the month. Now I am waiting eagerly for June.

I continue to be inspired by these beautiful squares (and tormented by mmy bag of yarn Wink )! And, I might actually be able to start one on Sunday. And since we are in the middle of state testing at school, I might be able to work on it a bit while I am proctoring the test. I'll start with the October easy square. Now to decide what color yarn to make it with!

I really need to learn how to take better pictures, but I've restarted this -along, using a metric crapload of Red Heart SS someone gave me.  It's not at all colours I like, but I figure they'll go together into an afghan that someone can use eventually.  So I've started on easy, working my way back to October and then I plan to do the experienced ones going forward.  Does that make sense?  Anyway, here they are.  The pics were on the huge side, so I used thumbnails.  Hope that's okay.  I'm half done February, so I should be posting again soon.  Thanks for looking.

Inspiring!

I really am trying to get started! I printed out the October easy square directions and I have a question: What does it mean to dc "around" hdc? I know what dc and hdc are, I just don't get the "around" part. Does that mean don't crochet "into" it (like into the loops at the top of the hdc), but kind of "over/under" it?

Hmmmm...might make more sense if I attempt it. I have a couple of swap items to work on, but maybe I'll just make one, and then I can take a crack at this.

Read back at the end of page 9 and beginning of page 10 - this exact question is answered there.

Oh, I'm too lazy for that! Wink Actually, I just decided to start it and I think I have it. It does make sense when I actually have the hook in hand. I just did the first 2 rounds and it looks like it might be right.

Thanks for the speedy reply!

Actually, now that I'm on here, I guess I'll go back and check... Grin

ETA: Okay, I went back and checked, and I think I'm doing it right...Thanks again Homerof2 for pointing me in the right direction! Now, I'd best get backed to it before I get distracted Wink

I also wondered what that meant, so I just skipped it.  It is fine (so far, lol).  I have been skipping around and doing random squares on the list until I get caught up.  Grin  It's fun. Cheesy
