Wow - that square looks great!  Maybe you will inspire those who have been in this crochet-a-long to get moving  Grin

Okay, I know that the idea behind this is to use up your stash, but I don't really have much of a yarn stash, so I went and bought a bunch of Simply Soft, only they didn't have a great selection, so my colors might be a bit weird, but I'm gearing up to finally start this craftalong!

I never planned it as a stash buster - I've bought new yarn for it a few times already.  I just love making 12" squares and wanted others to join with me in making them, that's why I started this crochet-a-long  Smiley

Whew! I wanted to make the squares kind of color-coordinated (even though the colors might not be the best, at least all of the squares will go together Wink ) just in case I actually do a decent job of it, I can give it as a gift...especially if October is the last one, it might even be done in time for Christmas!

I bought 10 skeins of yarn (2 each of 5 colors) plus 2 more of one color for the joining. Since I have never made anything like this before, will that be enough?

Oh, and I love both of the May squares! I'm going to finish my latest kitty Snuggle blanket, and then this will become my newest crochet obsession! Hopefully, I'll be all caught up by July! This is my goal...wish me luck!

That all depends on how big the balls of yarn are.

All the best in catching up - and be sure to post pictures as you make them.

They are regular sized skeins of Caron Simply Soft (I don't know enough about yarn to give you any more info). But, the good thing is that they have no dye lot, so if I run out, I can get more!  Grin But, every time I walk into the craft store, I spend way more than I plan, so I'm hoping to avoid that  Cheesy

I just re-checked all of the patterns. I think I'll start with the Easy squares first, and then move on to the Experienced ones (I should be more experienced by the time I finish the easy ones, right?  Wink ). As for the posted Experienced ones, can you rank them from easiest to hardest? I figure that if I start with the easiest Experienced one, I can build my confidence as I move to the harder ones... Cheesy

This is my opinion (others may have a different order):

December
October
February
May
April
January
November
March (only because of the way the instructions are written)

i really love the may squares.. as for the easy vs. experienced one issue, i opt for easy ones (and some experinced ones if i feel it) because this project supposed to be a stashbuster and mind relaxer one. so i will keep doing the squares until all the yarn i spare for this project is finished Smiley

Thanks, Homerof2! I am getting antsy about starting, now that I have yarn to play with! But, I have to clear a few other items off of my list before I can start  Tongue

And, I was worried that my squares would all come out different sizes, but then I read comments from a few folks who just added on rounds to make them the right size, so now I feel much better!

Well, off I go to clear a project off of my to-do list!

So here I am again!

I ending up skipping the March squares for the moment and doing the April ones.  I love the Butterfly one, as a matter of fact I already had it printed out to do at some point!  Anyway, here are my pictures for April (better late than never!).

April Easy

April Experienced

The Experienced one is actually purple instead of blue. . . but I'm making do with the little camera on my computer.

I'm looking forward to working on the May squares!  The Waldo's Puzzle looks like it will be fun and challenging.

Everyones squares look really cool!
