Can you tell me how to go about crocheting them together? I've read instructions, but they don't make much sense to me.

And, crocheting them together as you go seems like a very good idea, to me! That way, it'll be part of the task of making the square and I'll get some instant gratification.

This is partly to prevent myself going mad at the prospect of sewing together a huge pile of pieces, and partly because it is so encouraging to see the project taking shape, rather than having all the pieces bundled up in a cupboard.
And this, too Wink

This is a very good method, as it makes a nice lacy edge.

You can also search for other methods. I either use this, or just sc, ch 1, on alternate squares. Priscilla's directions are clear and easy to follow. Why don't you give it a try? If you need any further info, I am always happy to help.

Thanks! It still looks confusing, but it's probably one of those things that I'll understand much better when I actually have the hook in my hand. The pictures will be a huge help!

And, it does look pretty!  Smiley

Thanks for "hooking me up" to the directions!

I decided to go ahead and do the experienced square, too, but I decided to leave the flower off (it's a lovely flower, I will use it somewhere else) and just use the background square. I'm still loving the 12" size, I've only done two and I feel like I have a huge amount of afghan done all ready.  Cheesy

Here we go for the month of May!

Easy - this one is very nice when it's done up - don't let the first 4 rows throw you off, just read the directions and it turns out fine!

Experienced - I made this last year and it's really nice - I put it in experienced because of the rings and connecting them - a little challenging but totally do-able!

So, here's a picture of my May easy square.  I've haven't made the experienced one again yet but plan to before the end of the month  Grin

I grabbed the colors I have in my stash. The problem is, I suck at combining colors, so I've no idea if this is too garish or if this could look ok Roll Eyes
