BTW, my squares are all in thread.

Okay, that now explains something to me - when I first saw these ones posted, I thought your experienced one looked more intricate and now I know why!

Well, it's December 1st and time for our next set of squares.  It's hard to believe another year has almost passed us by  Grin

I have once again made these squares ahead so that I knew the patterns were okay and to see if I could get the measurements properly.

The easy square shouldn't be any problem getting it to the right size since you just keep repeating 2 rows over and over until you reach the size you want.  I used the suggested hook (J, 6.0).  You will see when you open the link that there are 2 squares shown, one solid and one striped - the instructions are for the solid square but it's very easy to figure out where to switch colors for the striped one.

Easy

I have made the experienced square a number of times and it's one of my favorites!  I must admit that it's really not that experienced but I thought with December being such a busy month, I should pick something a little 'easier' so that people would actually get it done  Smiley   You need 5 different colors for it and, in my opinion, it's best if 4 of the colors contrast with each other - it makes the design stand out more.  I used the recommended hook (K, 6.5) but on the last row I made double crochets rather than single crochets so that it would come out at 12".

Experienced

Enjoy this month's squares!

Since you all know I have the December squares finished, I might as well post pictures!

Easy and a close up of the dc cross stitches

Experienced and close up of the 4 colors I used (to prove I really did because the larger pictures doesn't show them and also to show why it would be better to use 4 contrasting colors - they would have shown up better!)

I finished my squares a little while ago, but I was running low on bandwidth so delayed posting them. But here they are now:

I love Priscilla Hewitt's patterns, and am so glad to see one of them on this CAL. Homerof2, your squares are looking great, and starberri, I like the introduction of an extra colour in your November experienced square.

Here are my December squares.  Sadly, once again my photography does not do them justice!
