Nice work, everyone.  Cheesy

I can't wait for the next one, either. I got a whole bunch of yarn from a second-hand store that's perfect for this sort of thing.

Ooh, you've all made so nice squares.

I'll have to buy a new hook, because I only have sizes 6,5 and 4,5 and smaller, so I haven't crocheted mine yet.

Yikes, that's a hard question to answer because it depends on how 'intense' the design is on a square.

I took a look around the internet to see if I could find out how much yarn an average granny square takes and from what I could find, I'd say about 2 ounces of worsted weight per square.

ooh this sounds like fun, I'd love to join!

I love the squares everyone has made, not sure mine will be as good though as I haven't been crocheting for very long.

It doesn't matter how long you have been crocheting - that's why I picked an easy and experienced square - just do what you think you can.

I finished mine! But I no longer have a working digital camera.  I guess you'll just have to take my word for it. : /

On the first one I used a basic acrylic worsted weight yarn, and I used a J hook, and I ended up having to add on four extra rounds to make it 12". But, that's what's so cool about granny squares, you can just keep going til it's the size you want, so no trouble! The second one I did exactly as written and it turned out nicely.

Ok, so here's my squares. I haven't been crocheting for very long so my technique isn't the best.... and obviously not my cameraskills either :S

The blue one is in reality a deep purple colour and the orange is really vibrant. I had to start over a few times on the orange one before I got it right.

Looking forward to next month patterns Cheesy

Nice, tmd. Smiley Are you going to make the whole thing with contrasting colours?
