looks like the original shirt was a raglan shirt...size huge.....with the sleeves hacked off.  good luck.

IMHO, I think she cut the collar not just in a straight tube but more of a U shape. Also, I agree with Eliea that the bodice looks to be a large tee with the neck and sleeves hacked off. Then you would end up with a tank looking garment. Try cutting upen the shoulders and then make a hem at the sleeve holes. Next make a U shaped tube out of the contrasting fabric, gather the bodice at the neck and sew on the tube.
