Decorating an acoutic guitar...

Sorry if this is the wrong board for this but I don't know where to post.

Okay, so I have a cheap acoustic guitar and I can't stand it being so darn ugly. Anyone got any ideas for decorating it?

It has been finished with some sort of gloss so I don't think paint would stick. If you know a way around this, please share.

If you wanted to paint it, you could sand it first. Unless you plan on playing it, and then I have no idea how decorating it or sanding it would affect the acoustics.

Yeah people keep recommending mod podge but I don;t think they sell it over as I've not seen it anywhere .

Here is what one freind from England had to say about Modge Podge...perhaps this will help...she just adda a little water to it and mixes it in.....

  i use PVA for absolutely EVERYTHING in various amounts of layers and if i want something weather/water proof i chuck over a good helping of acrylic varnish...

if you look on the back of the mod podge bottle youll see that its basically watered down pva glue..

Acrylic paint should work , that sticks to just about anything.

It sets waterproof too.     Id never have the balls to decorate my aucoustic its just lovely the way it is.
