im sure im not the only one who made those popsicle stick pencil holders as a wee child.  well a couple of weeks ago, my mom was cleaning out the craft closet and i saw a big box of those sticks.. so being the bored craftster i am, got some glue and popped this baby out. i feel like a mega nerd for it, but i actually use it!

i tried to take the picture at an angle so you could see how i made it.

but there are soooo many ways you can change it to your liking, and hey, in the process of making one, you might even get nostalgic.

seriously though, if you dont like the wood theme, you could always paint it and slap a stencil or some polka dots on there.

that's cute. i've been meaning to make a new pencil holder- my old one i made in pottery class years ago, and its kind of... impractical. i was thinking of going the soup can route, but the popsicle idea is great too.

awesome. my BF and i made some of these a few years back, and I still have that box of a million craft sticks. it was an investment, all of 2 bucks! if that. but still, i find myself reaching for those when I am bored and want something simple to craft. thanks for the photo!
