Just curious if anyone is going or has gone to this year's state fair.  I went yesterday for the first time.  The creative arts and fine arts buildings were a lot of fun, lots of interesting things to see and I took a million pictures.  The sock monkey dress had to be one of my favorite things there though, it was sooo awesome.

Oh, I didn't know there was a sock monkey dress at Crafty Planet.  I've only been there once though.

Yes, the sock monkey dress was super cool! It's also on pg. 78 of this month's Minneapolis St. Paul magazine. The person that made it wove it by hand, I believe!

I missed the sock monkey dresses, and I went yesterday!(so thanks for the pics). However, I did get to see some friends' seed art pictures(the Hamm's Bear and the Vincent Price),eat fried stuff and see butter sculptures.....ther e were some nice knitting displays too. We also saw Dave Pirner and family by the Co-ops booth. It was fun,but I always end up backpedaling on the food enthusiasm because it's too hard to eat it and avoid people at the same time.

That's funny, the Hamms and Vincent Price seed art pieces were the only seed art things I really really liked and took pictures of.
