Wow! That looks really good! After seeing everyone's brilliant ideas on here, I'm really interesting in altering a book to make it my visual diary, but I've a few questions. What kind of a book do you use? or does it matter? Has anyone got any tips on making the book work successfully?
Help is greatly appreciated!!!

And starsnelhrt keep up the good work - that's really fantastic!!!

Thankyou for the wonderful comment! I just used a book from my older sister's book shelf (shhhhh) Wink I prime all the book pages with gesso because that's what all the books i've read say to do;) I noticed on a page where i didn't use gesso it wrinkled up bc of the wetness. So using gesso is def. worth it! (i bought mine at walmart) And it also helps if you start with a fairly small book..i think my pages are 7x7inches, i tried on bigger pages but it was realllly hard for me so..i guess it's all preference!  Other than that I don't know much cause i'm a newbie myself..so have fun and experiment!!! Thanks again!

That looks great, I'm interested in making an altered book too.

Been doing lots of searches on google and also someone recommended this book to me

Yup, the Bev Brazelton book is good, "Altered Books 101"is also great for beginners and a little cheaper to buy, and there are AB 102 - 104 as well if you get hooked!  Use any strong hardback book that is not of value - my favourite find was a book of old tax tables in shillings and pence - we haven't used them since 1971, and the thrift shop was REALLY glad to sell it!  The yahoo group is also good and has masses of images in the files.
