I think someone else did something like this too.

Ok so this is my 8th grade formal dress:



and then i got a seam ripper and seperated the top from the bottom. I LOVE IT

This is the back of the Top


Front (lol in the last few pictures ignore the boob area and how its all poofy its because of the belt):

  wow, i definitely have that same dress.
  only, i wear it with a shirt over it, so the skirt part looks like an actual skirt.  i may have to try this.

Oh my GOSH.  I love this.  The top looks better by itself than it did with the rest of the dress.  I'm going to have to go to the consignment shop to look for something like that and try it!
