I commented on some shrinky dinks of a dear, sweet Craftster member, Fidget and she offered to make me some.  Isn't that sweeet?!  It ended up being more of a personal swap, as she sent me lots of goodiesGrin

In return, I sent her some goodies too.  I did some post stalking and found that she had complimented an Amish puzzle ball pincushion.  Wowie, I hadn't seen one of these since my Grammy made 'em when I was itty bitty, so I had try to make her one!

Here's the one she liked on Craftster!  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=97455.msg947142#msg947142
Here's one I visually dissected  Cheesy  http://www.bakercoantiques.com/items/TX435.htm

She likes purples...so I found some purdy fabric & here's the result...

And it's magnetic to pick up spilled pins!  Wink  (Katamari)

I made her some personalized pins too.  Here they are:  pin threadSmiley

Thanks guys!  Smiley

Moonlightbliss, you can!  Cheesy  It was really easy once I figured out how it was all going to fit together.  It took me a while to sew, but I think it's 'cause I'm fairly new to sewn crafts.  I did it all in one evening though...it was just a long evening.  Cheesy

I loved the pins...but, the ball....well,

I wrote a long ode to these ball-pillows, but decided not to bore you all with it...let's just say I have a photo of me sitting on my Grandmother's couch with two of these great black and yellow-gold velvet puzzle balls on either side of me.

We used to love to put our arms through them!  (They were about 12 inches in diameter.)

Based on my experience and fond memories, I would suggest making some...especially if you have kids!!!

Great Job, sweets4ever!!!  I'm wisting it!

Okay...edit!  I had to get the picture and show you!  There was one with black on the outside and yellow inside and one that was the exact opposite.  Here's half of the photo...the other half is blurry.

Yours truly,
RecycleMicol
