2 trashy minis from ucky jeans + pink leopard punk rock goodness.[IMG HVY]

this was an ugly pair of jeans that I wore in grade 6. here's a before pic, when I started cutting them. they had slits at the bottom and 2 seams going accross each leg on both sides.. just look at the picture.

so I just cut below the first across-seam and above the second one on each leg. the first skirt is your typical jeans-to-mini, nothing special, except that I cheated and used the seam that was already there to make it look hemmed. I left it to fray a bit to make it look cooler. also pockets! the reason that I wanted to recon these jeans were the awesome zippered pockets.
(the pockets don't usually show from under the bottom, I was standing funny.)

this is the second skirt, I love it a lot. it's made from the bottom of each pant leg. I based the style on those tripp skirts with the same zippered parts.

my pride and joy, pink minisweater thing from hideous pink tshirt. it had 2 layers in the front that made the v neck thing, and I used hot pink leopard velvet for the bottom band and sleeve bands. I gave it puffed sleeves and a little button thing on each sleeve. and I safety pinned on a Virus patch that I stencilled a long time ago. it's hot.



yes, I forgot to pull down the inside layer of fabric, so it looks weird.

the buttons on the sleeves match the leopard spots perfectly, it's awesome.


oh yeah, did I mention that EVERYTHING here is sewn by hand? yup yup.

the jeans that I used weren't that thick, thank god.
when I found that pink leopard velvet I nearly had a heart attack... and they only had like a meter and a half left so I got a discount on it! I bought it a long time ago, I've been too scared to cut it until now, so I've just been admiring it from afar.. lol.

I like it all - the single thing i would do is to put some of that hot pink leopart fabric underneath the zipped pleats in your second skirt - and tease people with a little glims of that hot fabric    You really rock

pisicandru, I already considered doing that to make it even more like the tripp skirts that I based it on, but for now I'm gonna leave it the way it is, just because while it's warm outside I'm happy with the trashiness of it  . I think I'll add in the leopard when it gets cooler so it would look cool with black leggings.

haha, that's why I haven't made any lovely twirly circle skirts yet even though I lust after them all the time. the hemming.. *shudders*.
