I'm a prolific knitter, but have never tried embroidery until I spied the awesome wee wonderful (really wish I snagged her patterns before they sold out!) and sublime stitching websites, so I decided to pick up the Stitch it Kit at B&N last week.  I must say, I LOVE how quick embroidery is-- so much more of an instant gratification than knitting is.

Anyway, here's my first stab at embroidery:

It's not perfect, but I think it's pretty darn cute.  I used all split stitch.

Your cherries are so cute!  I always use chain stitch, but I think I'll try the split stitch that seems so popular.

I totally agree about Wee Wonderfuls.  Those little embroidered children are so adorable.  I knew her patterns would sell out right away.

I'm a knitter who just discovered embriodery too and I think I'm really going to like it. I picked up the same kit as you!

That's really good.  I just got this kit tonight, and i'll try it out as soon as i've finished knitting the wristwarmers I'm working on.  I used to embroider when I was a kid, but I haven't done it for years.  I love the tea pot and tea cup pattern in the kit!

That looks very nice. I LOVE the stitch-it kit.

And you what? I REALLY like the look of split-stitch. Oh, I know it's "basic" but... I dunno. Something about it makes me happy.

I tried, but I can't give up my chain stitch.  Chain stitch has a nice stretch to it and works well on a t-shirt.
