I made this purse a couple of months ago for my best friend's birthday. It was my first project of this sort and I'm pleased with the outcome. My friend has carried it around a couple of times and it hasn't fallen apart yet.

I used a wooden fisherman bag from Michael's and glued the plaid fabric very carefully. The inside bottom of the purse and the inside of the lid are lined with black felt. What you can't see in these photos is that I added black cord piping around the edges of the lid and the body of the purse. The photos were taken before I came up with that solution.

I would love an excuse to make more of these because it was insanely easy. But I have too many bags already and carry far too much stuff to fit in this purse.

That's amazing.  I would love to try something like that! Grin

Really, really nice.  I'm sure your friend must be thrilled!

I love that purse! Where did you get the strap and closure?  Very nice work!

that's really cute - no eyeglass smashing going on in THAT bag! Smiley

I swear, with the tartan and the shape, you've made her a sporran! (the bags that are traditionally worn with kilts)
