I don't know about punk/edgy, I just know that a baby Dracula would be adorable  Cheesy
Maybe a little Frankenstein? Or a bat?

My daughter will be 8 months in October, and I'm just starting to think of ideas, too.

Ooh!  A baby dragon! I just happened across this one:

Maybe you could build off the idea?

***EDIT**

The dragon is at the bottom of the page, along with an adorable bat  Grin

my brother suggested dressing up my son (who'll be five months at halloween) as sid vicious.  um...  I'm just not that into the sex pistols, but thanks, bro...
anyway, how about pacman or one of those ghostie guys?  or that guy from the "corpse bride"?

When my brother was itty bitty we made a little devil costume for him.  Basically just a red pair of sweatpants and sweatshirt and then made him a bonnet/hood with devil horns and then a pointed tail (it was just safety pinned onto the pants.) We bought him an itty bitty pitch fork and then painted a little black mustache on his face.

You could always turn him into a pumpkin, too.  That would be cute.

My son was a skeleton. Very simple costume of black sweatpands and sweatshirt with felt bones put on with the the transfer stuff (why can't i think of the name??? wonderunder). It was easy because he didn't have to have facepaint of masks or hoods.

How about a garden gnome if he is fat? That would be pretty funny.
