I have officially been crocheting for a year now. One of the very first things I saw & said "I want to make THAT" was the star blanket. at long last! here it is! Took me about two weeks but that was working mostly in the waiting-to-pick-up-the-kids-from-school time that I get daily.

My hubs asked if the daddy was a Dallas Cowboys fan :/ I don't think so but it IS the colors mom picked.

EDIT: I did the Diva's Alternate center instead of Beth's Little Star center, even with the explanation tutes I could NOT get the center otherwise. I tried the Beth's center about six times, the Diva pattern center I got on the first try. It makes the center star a bit bigger, which affects color/ striping choices if you want to do a lot of stripes, but if you want a large solid center it's no big deal.

I've had this pattern for awhile and finally got around to making myself a starghan.  It is fairly large and covers most of me (I'm 5'10) and it is made with caron simply soft.

thanks for all of the inspiration Smiley

Wishing I'd done mine in SC instead of DC, it just looks crisper. Oh well, next one Smiley

I love the fact that you chose a different kind of blue - not a pastel.  Looks great!

thank you! I've never gotten into pastels for baby boys because I like it when they actually look like boys.

Yey! Finally done! It's been months =[
I'd say about 3 off and on and for such a small blanket.  I want to do another now though, I'm hooked.

Next to my camera case in the first and my dog is in the 2nd in the corner.  I used Cottentots and it was like the best decision ever, it's so so soft.  Used about 5 skeins I'd say (I have a half left of the yellow and half of the green).
