Oh wow, so I thought that this was an old crochetalong since it was started in Aug of 06, but a very kind fellow craftster pointed me here & after much searching of the page I found the skip to page # part (bear with me...it's only my 3rd day haha). So, I'm going to delete my original crochetalong & join this one! I'm going to do some stash busting with this one. I have a lot of pinks, so I'm worried that mine might look like a big star-shaped piece of bubble gum. haha. At any rate, hopefully I will get to start it today. I just started a sewing project last night (way new at sewing too yikes!), so hopefully I can work some on each project every day. Smiley

Welcome can't wait to see what you got in store. Don't worry about how it looks as long as it's a star, we'll love it here.

There will always be people who say mean words  because you are different, and sometimes their minds cannot be changed. There are many more people who do not judge others based on how they look or where they are from. THOSE are the people whose WORDS truly matter.

I actually am going to withdrawl from this crochetalong & join the Babette Afghan one. I don't really have anyone to make the star afghan for & that's how I get my inspiration, really. I find someone I want to crochet for & then I go with that. I'm going to make the Babette Afghan for my hubby for Christmas (hopefully!!). Smiley

I made a baby size star using crochet divas pattern.  I used the bernat coordinates sweet stripes.  It was made for a craft sale for Relay For Life.  It was the first thing bought.  The girl who bought it made a comment on how she could picture a sweet little grandma crocheting in her rocking chair and how she had to buy it.  (I was a little offended since I'm only 37 and no where near being a GRANDMA Tongue)

and a close up of the pattern and stripes.

I have made 4 of these since I posted the one I made my son, but they all get rehomed before I have a chance to take a pic.
I have managed to get a photo of my most recent though.

This is just a small one,  about the right size for a car seat blanket.
Not sure where this one is going, but I've already started on another one.  They are so easy to crochet on the go,  we have to make fairly regular trips to our local fish store (we have a marine tank, with nemo, dory and lots of others) Its a two hour round trip,  so I can get quite a bit done in that time.

Posted before, but I have made additions and created another star baby blanket.  These are for my nieces.  They are so cozy that I want to keep them for myself.  Also huge!

I think a lot of people who don't knit/crochet think only little old ladys do it.  If only they could see everyone on Craftster. Smiley

Yes, I love the way my friends make fun of me for being like a little ole lady -- then ask when I am going to make them one _______(whatever I am working on).   Like the star blanket - they all want one of those....it is a baby's blanket!
