Gah, I don't think I've ever been so mad at a pattern in my life :x haha. I have finished most of the starghan I started a while back... I used the alternate beginning that someone posted in here. It looks good, but I like the watermelon-seed-looking center that the original pattern has. I'm trying to make a second starghan with the original pattern, and I have attempted it 320,723 times... My problem is that when I get to row 3, the dcs aren't matching up, like they're not even. I can't really explain what I mean. :/ Can someone who has a lovely afghan finished please explain in your own terms how you interpreted rows 1-3 of the original pattern? If not, I suppose I will go back to the alternate version.

Frustrating to just not get a pattern, isn't it, Violet?  But when the light finally dawns, you feel like you conquered the world!  Glad you got it, now make about a dozen of them so you remember.  Cheesy

Mine is a large size using bulky yarns, and I hope to find time to finish it this week.  Had to make an emergency run to Hobby Lobby for more yarn.

Thanks, HumorMe! I actually am going to make a ton of these :] I absolutely love them!
I'm soo happy with this one :] Glad I decided to not use an E hook like the idiot I was with the first one (it looked nice and neat but I was getting nowhere... I had to switch hook sizes eventually). Going with an I hook but I might just switch again after a while :] Here's what I have so far!

those *are* totally awesome colors, vylentviolet!  i like how the black off sets the neon of the pink and green.  if i did make another one of these, i would use a bigger hook too (i used a g hook for the original, like the pattern said, and it took so long to get a lot of height!).
