I really love your colors!  It's so fun and pretty!!!!!!

I have been thinking of filling mine into a square as well, but I have a feeling once I'm done I won't want to have a whole nother section to do.

Here's my version of the star blanket. I have a slight obsession with stars, and had been wanting to make one of these for awhile, but didn't know anyone who was having a baby. Recently, though, my cousin became pregnant so I made her one for Christmas.  Smiley

It's done entirely in Red Heart Baby yarn, and it has this really neat glittery sheen to it, though my horrible pictures don't show it.

This pattern looks awesome and now that I've started a new job where a colleague is pregnant it seems like a perfect present!

So I'm gonna start on it soon but thought I"d ask for some advice soon. The wool that I bought is sports weight (3 ply). I have a 3.5 and a 4.5 mm crochet hook, which one would be more appropriate for the wool?

Thanks!

my vote would be for the 4.5 mm hook.  the blanket builds quickly but as you get farther and farther from the center the growth is slow (each trip around a star point adds many stitches) and you'll be happy you used a larger hook and can move faster.
