It's really pretty!!  I'm really fond of these star blankets, but I don't have the nerve to do one myself.

Thats really awesome! I am starting a round ripple afghan myself, and seeing how that goes... lol I might try the star afghan pattern next.

I am taking a break from swaps for a while.  I am not accepting any personal swaps at this time until around Christmas time.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

Wondering if this will work with just basic worst weight acrylic yarn?

this will work with just about any yarn, so long as you have the right hook for it.
The size is variable, anyways...I've made one that was over 6 feet across...

I'm starting one of these with the end of skein that I dyed with Kool Aid.  Its Cascade Eco Wool and I'm using an I hook which is a bit small for the yarn but its the rights size for the other stash reamins I have. I can't get the pic to work! My computer is still on vaca for the holidays  Huh

Let see if this works for the pic:

Must. Get. Motivated.

I want to finish this.  I really do.  I want to do 2 more changes of color (for a total of three stripes of purple), because I think stripes always look better in odd numbers.  *sigh*  I will finish it, one day.

I think I can.  I think I can. I think I can.  (The Little Engine That Could keeps popping into my head while I'm working on this thing).

HAHAHAHAHA...2 and a half years later, and I'm still not finished.  I'm working on it again now, though.  I *will* finish this silly blanket.  Smiley

ETA:  The aforementioned boyfriend is now my husband, we have a 6-month-old daughter, and his silly star is still not finished!

I have a lot of Lion Brand Homespun that I'd love to trade for something else!

It's done!!!  I decided against the third row of purple and black, as that would make it too large for the lap/couch blanket that I want it to be.  It only took me three years!  Woo!   Grin
