Sparkly Naugahyde, 10"x13"x3".  I love this purse.   It has black lining and a zippered inside pocket.

That's amazing!
How did you sew so nicely on vinyl? What size needle did you use?

Bloody gorgeous! You're not just rocking the Union Jack... you're rocking bags everywhere. That sparkling vinyl is making me giddy.

Thanks, craftsters.

awsome job! where did you find the sparkly 50's diner vinyl? did you take something apart? i love that stuff.

I'm able to buy Naugahyde through my wholesale upholstery resource.  I have seen sparkly vinyl for sale a few other places.  It's not Naugahyde, but it's nice if you're just making bags.

That's amazing!

I used an industrial machine, needle size 125/20.  There's no way I could have done this on a home machine.

"There's no way I could have done this on a home machine."

are you sure? i once sewed a motorcycle seat cover for my boyfriend's bike using a little singer. it's still on there and still nearly perfect after about 8 or 9 years. it was upholstery vinyl, not sparkly but thick. i did piping too.

I'm sure.

Your machine needs a clearance of 9/16"  under the foot to get this vinyl under it.  That spec doesn't happen on a home machine.  If you were able to sew 4 layers of vinyl on your Singer, the vinyl was a smaller gauge than Naugahyde.
