I love ceramics- the traditional type pottery like cups, plates, bowls, vases etc. But I also really love when clay is made into something unexpected.

here is  a peice I made for my beginning ceramics hand building class


its about 3 feet high; heres a close up of Rosie:

  I think you have done an outstanding job of leaving the ordinary behind and creating something different...

People sometimes confuse ceramics with pottery, and although they are similiar, handbuild is all original,,from the ground up.. :I did handbuilt pottery for a long time and tried to do something that was not ordinary but pushed the envelope a little.  Keep on with it, you did good.. Grin

I love it!  Hand-building is so fun.  I really like making a very simple, normal looking boxes or vases and then making something like a giant rabbit for the handle...or big snails climbing the vase.  If you don't mind, I's love to print out a pic for my 'Ceramics Inspiration' journal.  (You'll be credited of course)
