You are right that you must have "completed one swap successfully before signing up for multiple swaps at a time", but that is only to sign up for multiple swaps. I.e. you can always sign up for one swap to start with (as long as you meet the other criteria), but to sign up for more than one at a time you first need to complete that first swap successfully. Does that make sense?

Yes!
Thank you so much for clearing that up... For someone who is new to swaps, that wasn't particularly obvious.
I do feel a bit silly now, but I really appreciate your help!

Many people make that mistake, so no problem.  Smiley Didn't we think about changing the wording on that?

Has it been worded with "when" instead of "before" ?

fwiw imo if the whole sentence isn't read, it doesn't matter how it's worded. I get that at work a lot. People stop halfway through the sentence and don't realize that their question is answered in the next few words.

But wouldn't it then be better if the information was given the other way around? like "Before you sign up for more than one swap at a time you must have completed your first swap successfully" or something like that (English is not my mother tongue).

That works too. Maybe the wording of that line could be the next Craftster survey?  Cheesy

Don't know why, but I've been thinking about it all day  Huh Cheesy What about a change like this -

Swap Organizer will check each participant to make sure they meet these conditions:
1 - Has been a member for at least one month:
2 - Has posted at least 15 times:
3 - Is not currently signed up for more than five swaps:
4 - Does not have any negative feedback:
5a - First time swappers must meet conditions 1-4
5b - Other swappers must meet conditions 1-4 and have completed one swap successfully before signing up for multiple swaps at a time

That there makes so much more sense. It doesn't make give off the impression that the requirement is linked to the participation of the swap in question. Smiley

I really  like (and understand) how this site does their swaps.  I can't tell you how many times, on other boards, that people join the site then join one swap after another only to flake on them all.  So frustrating but does this really help you all with your participants?
