Hi,
i'm going to Munich for a week and would like to search out some fabric stores as well as second hand/used stores or "flea market/marche' aux puces"?
Also (OT) I'm traveling with my dog. Are dogs allowed in stores & restaurants?
TIA.

Hi Mini,

there are some fabric stores around here in Munich, but your best bet will probably be big stores like Hertie and Karstadt. They have a "Kurzwaren" department (4th floor Karstadt at Karlsplatz and 1st floor Hertie at Karlsplatz/ Hauptbahnhof). Dont try Kaufhof, though. It is equally big but has hardly any fabric. There is also a store called Donaco (or sth. like that), its about 10 minutes walk from the center.

Flea markets are usually friday/ saturday and a bit outside Munich. You could go to Riem by S-Bahn. Sometimes there is a flea market at the Olympiagelnde but I dont recall when that is.

As for second hand clothing (and a small choice of second hand fabric) you could go to Resales. There is one at ....guess Smiley ..... Karlsplatz (well, Sonnenstrae, about one minute walk from Karlsplatz.

Have fun,

Kerstin

Oh. Thank you so much! We are actually staying  in the south of the city. (I want to say Sebling(?) or Au (?)... But I think we are near the metro. My boy friend is working so I will entertain my self during the week with fabric shopping! Smiley
Ok, I can't shop all week! Maybe I'll do some sightseeing too!  Wink
I'm really excited. I've been to Munich once before (for a day). And really liked it (even though it was really cold at the time). So, I'm excited to see it with better weather.
