Great idea and tute!  Thank you so much for sharing.  And the idea of adding ribbon is great too.  I can imagine a tree covered with them as give-aways.

You've inspired me to take the pile of photo cards that I get from folks at Christmas and turn them into little ornaments. Then, I think I'll mail them back to who they came from. They'll have a bunch of ornaments of the kids/family and they can see how much everyone has changed!

Thanks for such a neat idea!

I knew I saved all of the pictures for a reason!

Yes, I think that it's great to return them to their previous owner!  With most folks just tossing their cards, it makes it all the more meaningful to them that you reused it.

Remember...ask your friends to save their Holiday cards for you this year...I really scored big with my secretary friends and a mailman friend I have!  They get TONS of cards!

Happy recycling!

Bookmarked as this is a great tutuorial that I am bound to forget when I come to try making them.  Roll Eyes

I made a few of these last minute to hold Christmas gifts, everyone was very impressed.  I tried to cover up the handwritten notes inside so as not to confuse the gift receiver!  Smiley  Someone spotted last year's xmas message inside and shortly followed with "no way, you made this!?" <-- I get that a lot and I have to say, I love it!

Oh, that's cool, S_S!  I honestly didn't even have any small gifts to wrap this year.  I guess I might have, come to think about it, but I just opted to stick them in the kid's stockings.  They wouldn't have been impressed, anyway...being 12 and 4 yrs. old   Grin

Love to the recyclers!

Glad you liked it.  I thought Festivus was the right pseudo-holiday for such a tutorial.
