There are a lot of tuts on this site if you search. Also, your local library will have some really great books. There's one I had as a kid that had realyl great instructions and pictures, so don't forget to search that section.

i think its cool looking. i wanted to make paper, but its too "messy" according to my parents Sad

Life is pointless unless you get dirty! MAKE PAPER! And just clean up after...don't let a glop harden onto the marble countertops! Or see if there is a studio/school you can make it at. Or like dreamisle said use the garage/attic/basement.

Btw, dreamisle, I am in LOVE with the colored paper you posted! Such bright pigment. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Thanks Smiley The white paper makes the construction paper colors really bright. Do you make paper too? I have a bunch to sell or trade or give away or whatever.

Those colored ones are gorgeous!!

What did you do to make the paper so bright?
(Love the texture on all of them, by the way...)

Project Vox -  What will you say?

I, Shout, along with fellow artist, Howl, make 5x4" cardstock booklets with our artwork on them, and leave them in random places for people to find.  The goal: to inspire and provoke thought

Have you seen any of our cards?

The color is really bright because I mix mostly white used copier paper and mix in construction paper, so they come out as bright pastels. The texture is weird because of the foam sheets, but certain materials produce sheets that are thinner and can be flattened easier. Otherwise the texture can be used for scrapbooking where you don't necessarily need to write on it. Thanks for posting, let me know if you ever want to buy or trade!

Nice paper! My boyfriend and I used a handmixer to blend up our paper (we couldn't find a cheap blender) and it worked fine. We also used a picture frame from Goodwill and some window screen that I found in my parent's basement. Here are some more tips...

1) when using scratch paper that has text on it, boiling and rinsing (multiple times) will result in a whiter final product

2) If your paper seems to thick or lumpy and is still wet, try rolling over it with a brayer (small paint roller with a smooth surface) on a flat surface to squeeze out the water and smooth it out.

3) making paper doesn't have to be a huge mess. If you use a small mold, it can be a done in a large tupperware or plastic storage tub.

4) I found lots of resources in my local library and in the art library at my university, so try those places if you can't find a good "recipe"
Good luck everyone!

since i have no access to a blender...aka the parents said "no"...i use my drill with one of those huge paint mixer attachments...it's sweet. i can make huge batches of pulp. i don't have a fancy screen and deckle either...i made mine out of a hula hoop and a piece of old window screen   Grin

you can't let parents get you down...most of the time they love the end result anyway...as long as you clean up... (i am not usually so good at that  Embarrassed)
