Thanks! And no, not at all! I WISH I was as talented as the creator of this pattern! Her name is Phyllis M. Robinson, and her website is:

http://designsbyphyllis.homestead.com/index.html

She's truly a brilliant designer, and has been nothing but encouraging and welcoming to everyone in the group. Her patterns are for sale on her website, or if you'd like to try her doll challenges (patterns are free for a limited period of time after the challenge is announced, and the next challenge is coming up), give her Yahoo group Clothdollmaking a try. The challenges are SO much fun - they really bring out the best in everyone, and I've heard that the next challenge will be a ballerina pattern by Doey Cummings, another fabulous dollmaker. I'm terrible with names, but I'm pretty sure I got it right.

A personal plea - if you join, DEFINITELY take advantage of the challenges! Like every board and group, Phyllis's group has its lurkers, but out of 1100 members, only 40 or so made a doll for this past challenge. It's amazing the number of interpretations that can come from a single doll pattern!

WOAH. That's wicked. Like, really. It is.
And I love your cat. Is it Norwegian Forest by chance? I have a cat that looks JUST like that. Very pretty cats, none the less.

hehe - thanks! And yes, Mimi (he only occasionally answers to Mel-Mel, but he comes running when I call him Mimi) is a Norwegian Forest. Actually, he's half Maine-Coon also, so not only is he cute as a button, but he's got the sweet, goofy personality that goes along with the MC breed. He's a treasure.

This is a awesome doll. Do you know how talented you are for this to be your first doll. You need to sell these.

Thank you! I'm considering making ONE just to sell - this is a FABULOUS pattern by Phyllis M. Robinson. I found some cheetah fabric, and I'm thinking the next one may have kitty ears and a long furry tail. I never knew animal prints would speak to me so loudly.

I'd have to make her and get her out, though. I find that once I give them names, it's that much harder to let them go.

This is the first doll I ever made, and the first one made from Phyllis's pattern. She's since had a change of clothing, but you might get the idea:

Her name is Sophie. Pardon the pins in her neck.
