This is my first time posting (despite being a longtime lurker) and this section seems to be the best place to post this, although there isn't really a recipe...

For my friend's birthday, my friend and I decided to make a cake based off of Tim Burton's The Corpse Bride (the wedding cake for Victor and Emily). She loves Tim Burton, we love baking, and after putting two and two together, we came up with this:

Sorry about any blurriness: I have a not-so-great camera and shaky hands to boot.

As for the cake, we used three 9 inch rounds and cut away bits and pieces to create layers, two packets of cake mix (because as it was, the cake took us approximately 4 hours to make), homemade frosting tinted with blue food coloring to cover the cake, decorating frosting in a tube for the bones, writing gel, and marzipan for the skulls. Yep, she liked the cake enough to stop being mad at us for being late getting to her house to celebrate!  Tongue

It ended up being split between four people, and so we all brought our quarter slices home, because there was too much. Tongue
