one year and counting in Korea book

there was a period of time last year when i lived in the happening part of town ( am now out in the not so happening suburbs) and i love to go out drinking with my pals and bring home lots of fliers, postcards, posters, anything really.  I ended up with a growing mound that i had to do something with so i made scrapbook type thing.  the pages vary in size.  and it was a PAIN to bind.  but looking at it really brings back some good times!

its thick.. about 2 in!  think i need to make another one this year.. think maybe with altered photos of my area... who knows

That's fantastic!! I love it! I really want to learn to bind books- the only one I can do halfway decent is the Japanese stab binding.
I'm also living in Korea right now- in northern Seoul (Suyu). Where are you? & I gotta start collecting fliers- some of them looked amazing in your pictures!

yeah the cover is painted, with some printing with stamps i carved and a couple of scraps from the poster.. but mostly painted.

..What's a packing tape transfer, i love the effect of it, how do you do it, or what is it??

oh it easy and great.  just take a photo copy and some packing tape.  put the packing tape down on the photo copy where every you want to get the image and rub with a spoon or something else hard.. alot. then when finished rubbing stick it in some water and gently rub away the paper from the back.  it also works on magazines and basically any printed paper.. just did it on some Japanese rice paper the other day and lifted off the pattern.  i sometimes paint the back of the transfer.. or place in down on a painted surface.. its great for layering.. OK thats it way to much about packing tape transfers. hope thats clear.

This is amazing! I spent some time exploring Italy two years ago and still have a pile of odds and ends I picked up there...what a great way to save the memories!
