Got this bamboo trunk so putting my creative mind at work, I removed the top part of the bamboo and drilled a hole on one side of the bamboo...

just make sure to cut the bamboo after the nodes and make sure you apply some fire retardant formula to it... just to be sure.

what do you think?

It looks great.  It just makes me sad...I just moved into my dorm room and we're not allowed to have fire....::tear::  but that looks fabulous.

That looks great! I've always wanted to make this with some of the large cross-section bamboo pieces I got while staying in Japan. What sort of fire retardant did you use?

That's fabulous!  I so need one - I always end up getting ash all over the place with the itty-bitty cheap ones you can get at the store.
