Hehehe.  If someone's ears burn when you talk about them, she's probably got a headache from all of our fussin' around, lol.

Not to be negative, well, I guess I do but only out of concern...  Does anyone besides me think that posting a picture of a child with her name and where she goes to school is a bad idea?  I am the mother of 3 children and I sure hope nobody ever does that with my kid's photos and information.

I think it's lovely that you want to make her nice present with her photo and I realize that her photo is already on the website, but now everybody knows her name.  Unfortunately, there are some really creepy people out there.  I'll admit I have an overdeveloped sense of the bad things that adults can do to children and am a self-proclaimed over-protective mother, but after reading this thread, I am worried for the girl.

What an equisite photo and child. Only thing I would do to it ..is paint it.
Also keep in mind that the photographer who took the photo probably maintains copyright to the photo.

I always make sure I can purchase the rights to any photos done by a professional so that I can have them printed or alter them legally.

I think you have some very valid points.
I was going to write a Yahoo local review about my childrens daycare center...then realized...that would tell people where my kids go to school.

Many schools have websites with class rosters, clubs, etc. posted, not to mention online newspapers and photography websites as well.  Don't get me wrong, I completely understand where your concern lies...just pointing out a few other instances.  Smiley  I searched my name the other day and found a website with a picture of me from elementary school I never knew existed (the picture or the website)... boy was it strange, not to mention embarassing. Wink

I agree.  But in the same...I also think it wishful thinking that people, such as this instance, will obtain copyright releases for photos they print for personal purposes.  Many photos, prints, etc. used for decoupage in swaps are a prime example.
