Would anyone like to join me in knitting this? I am going to lengthen it to cardigan length, and I think it is going to be so lovely!

Picture can be found here: http://iwpshopinfo.interweave.com/Knits/2004newsletters/fall04projects.htm

I'm using Swish superwash from Knitpicks in a fabulous color called Fired Brick. It's so much prettier than on the Knitpicks website! This yarn is great, super soft and so nice to knit.

I just started, and haven't made much progress.

I saw the picture of that in the new IK and have been looking for the pattern, but the Interweave website says they don't have any more copies of that back issue for sale, so I'm not sure how to get the pattern.  Huh

You can order a copy of just that pattern from IK, I believe... I planned on doing that until I lucked out and found a copy of the magazine. I've seen it for sale on ebay, but usually for pretty expensive.

Okay, I have obtained the pattern, cast on and knit several inches of sleeve...just thought I would bump this up to see if anyone could be persuaded to join the KAL. It's such a cute sweater. Any takers?

I've only got a few inches of my sleeve... I've been focusing my knitting time on Gatsby Girl right now, but I really have been tempted to get back on the Spencer... it's just so beautiful! What color are you doing?

I'm using Knitpicks Andean Silk in Sangria. It's really lovely yarn, very soft and pleasant to work with, and you can't beat the price, for an alpaca-silk-merino blend. I've got probably seven or eight inches of sleeve done now, and I'm so pleased with how it's turning out so far.

Just so everyone knows, there is a correction for this pattern listed on the Interweave website for the shaping of the left front part of the body. Looks like a fairly minor correction, so probably not a big deal, but worth knowing about anyway.

I couldn't resist... I picked mine up again, and have been working on it. I have about 11" of sleeve done. I am loving knitting this... it goes by so fast, and the cables and waves pattern is just fun! Hope things keep going well when I get to the body.

How is yours coming along?

Mine is going okay. I have the first sleeve plus several inches of the body done. I was worried for a while that the thing wasn't going to end up fitting, but I blocked what I had and it did block to the measurements given in the pattern, so I think it'll work out okay. No major problems so far, and I'm really hoping mine will turn out as attractive as the one in the IK picture. We'll see.  Smiley

I'm just starting on the body. Since I want to lengthen mine, I wonder when I should cast on the extra stitches for the body. Should I do it when she instructs to cast on 15?

I would think so. If you cast on enough stitches for an extra repeat on both sides of the piece, that should work, I think.

I'm making good progress. I finished the body and now I'm working the decreases in the upper part of the right sleeve. Hopefully I'll finish it before it gets too cold.  Grin
