I forgot to add before that you might want to double check the length of the strip for the sides/bottom/strap to make sure it's the right length for you before sewing it all up.

i know you posted this a while ago but i've got to say - very cool!

i just made a crazy quilt for my senior project and need something to do with all of the scraps. that slouchy bag is perfect!

I did it!  Thanks for the pattern!  I had to struggle with the straps tho so they would have two right sides.  I learned that next bag will have lined straps.  

And I made a little extra clutch to match!

What do you think?  Will my swap partner like this?
