I think that's pretty much the neatest thing in the world.  Ever.  I'd like to try it, but I think my RD would get upset if I did that to my dorm desk, haha.

I love this!!!  I've recommended it to a friend whose boyfriend refuses to get rid of a crappy dresser she hates.  This looks great!  I'm going to do it too!
