I always wait until my hubs wants to buy something too - then we get our shipping for free. We are actually planning on ordering some books tonight so I will have to check out the postcards. Wink I hadn't thought about Amazon for postcards before - there are a couple artist sets I have been looking for.

Where are everyone else's postcards? This gallery should be big and fat by now.  Huh

I need to get organised with posting my postcards ( Tongue) on the gallery - I need to work out the best way to do it (no scanner, see?!), but I will try and get with it next weekend - I got off an overnight flight from the US this morning, so my brain doesn't really work at the moment!! Tongue

Finally, here are my cards!

Top row L-R: Canadian Mounties from yamwam, Australian dolphins(!) from MissMeshell
Bottom Row L-R: vintage London from esmerelda, North Carolina beach from gumshoegal, and a New Orleans Mardi Gras float from janeausten

Thanks ladies - I love them all!

Oh, and sorry for the slanty perspective photo, but I was trying to avoid the flash glare...

and ALSO, I love that Illinios Wine Country postcard that Sarah sent stellato_escuro.

Okay... there are just too many great ones to mention. More please!!  Cheesy

First off, I completely agree about the great cards. My favorites are the North Carolina ones that look like the cover of Bruce Springsteen's Greetings From Asbury Park, NJ. I didn't know they made cards like that, but I want some!

Second, novastarlet, if I can find another one of those I'll PM you and send it to you (even in an envelope so you can keep it, if you want). I believe it's part of a promotional thing the Board of Tourism is/was doing. They made all these wonderful postcards and just left them places. I know they're basically just commercials for the state, but they're some of the more beautiful and interesting postcards I've ever seen, I had to share my favorites!

Anyway, my cards! I finally scanned them tonight. Excuse any poor quality, it's the first time I've used my scanner (it's built into my printer, and I don't scan many things, so...)

Thank you all, they're beautiful! As are everyone else's, of course!

OMG! That Paul Bunyan one is soooooo awesome. It is just so perfectly tacky and totally American. hah. I love it.

trisarahtop: Oh, that would be great! Thank you. If you do run into one, let me know. We can trade because I just bought another huge stack of cards. I'm sure I have something you would like. Wink

If I can't be my own, I'd feel better dead.

Yeah, I was cleaning the living room and "dining room" yesterday and I found it under a pile of stuff. I'm guessing that either my roommate tossed it on the table for me, or I tossed it on the table one night after work (I close, so at like 1 in the morning) and was so tired I didn't realize what it was. I feel awful, because I know what it's like to think someone hasn't gotten my swap stuff!

My boyfriend just saved a nearly new Canon scanner from a skip at the closed hospital he is surveying (rant alert: no wonder the UK's National Health Service is in such a dire state if they throw out everything when they close a hospital, instead of taking everything to the new hospital!  Alternatively, send it to a developing nation, for pete's sake!  Rant over), so when we get it set up I will scan my postcards.
